FLORIDA MAIN STREET SECRETARY OF STATE AWARDS | WINNER OF OUTSTANDING BUSINESS OF THE YEAR – DOG BAR
Dog Bar is located at 2300 Central Avenue in the Grand Central District of St. Petersburg. When Dog Bar opened in 2016, their location was on a block in Grand Central District that had previously struggled with empty lots and vacant storefronts. They converted a former abandoned gas station into a unique open-air concept that allows customers to hang out and have cocktails with their friends, while their dogs romp and play off-leash with their furry friends!
Today, Dog Bar is mainly responsible for the redevelopment on their block and is now considered the most popular destination in the District. Dog Bar owner Fred Metzler has bee a great supporter and member of the Grand Central District Association. Additionally, most of their events support animal rescues and causes.
In 2020, Dog Bar continued to draw a steady stream of visitors to the District. Not only because of the popularity of dogs in the area, but because the outdoor venue was perfect for the local and statewide restrictions that were in place throughout the year.
